Abstract
This paper defends the claim that counterfactuals with certain features play a central role in causal explanation. These are counterfactuals that describe the outcomes of hypothetical experiments. I compare my treatment to some influential alternative accounts and also reply to objections, including those raised by Bogen in this workshop.
