Abstract

It is argued that our experience of life in three-dimensional space can be explained by an ontological picture of quantum mechanics consisting solely of the wave function of the universe formally defined in the configuration space. Our experience supervenes on a part of the universal wave function which is defined in three dimensions, while the other parts (defined in configuration space) explain physical properties of objects. A deterministic universe without action at a distance requires the acceptance of the existence of parallel worlds similar to our world.
